All alumni are welcome to join us for the Homecoming Cookout held in Alumni Hall at Cardinal Newman School.  The cookout will begin at 5:30 PM.  The Homecoming football game will start at 7:30 PM.  

The Athletic Hall of Fame will take place on Saturday, September 30, at Cardinal Newman School.  Mass will begin at 10:00 AM in the school Chapel, followed by breakfast and the Hall of Fame ceremony.  Tickets for the breakfast ceremony are $20, and can be purchased here.

The Ian Roof Memorial Scholarship Presentation & Reception

Please join us on Tuesday, February 6, for the first presentation of the Ian Roof Athletic Leadership Scholarship and Coach's Award.   The presentation will take place during half-time of the Cardinals vs Hammond varsity basketball game.  Following the game, the Cardinal Newman Alumni & Alumni Parent Association will host a reception to celebrate Ian's memory with family, friends and fellow alum.  All are welcome!

Game Time: 7:15PM

Basketball Game Tickets: $10 Adult/ $5 Student

Alumni reception, in memory of Ian Roof, is a complimentary event

The scholarship was created to honor the memory of Ian Roof, Cardinal Newman Class of 2004.  Ian was a loyal Cardinal who played in multiple sports during his high school career: Basketball, Soccer, Football and Cross Country.  Ian was known for his gentleness and kindness but also for his give-all approach to athletics.  Ian’s success in athletics was directly related to the leadership he provided as a team-player and relentless effort in each sport.  Ian’s love of sports and Cardinal Newman brought him back to serve as an assistant coach for Soccer and Basketball from 2004 – 2019. 

The scholarship will provide an annual award of $1,000 to a student athlete that demonstrates passion and leadership on the field or court.

Sponsorships and ticket sales for the Mardi Gras Gala are now open.  We are excited to offer our community an amazing new venue in downtown Columbia at the historic 1208 Washington Building.  This vibrant and lively gala promises to be an extraordinary evening filled with elegance, entertainment, and the spirit of Mardi Gras! 

Guests will enjoy a Mardi Gras inspired strolling dinner from Southern Way Catering, our signature drink - The Hurricane, open bar, prize drawings, silent auction and wine pull.  Dance the night away with music provided by 20 year veteran DJ Mike from Magic Sounds Production!
