Cardinal Newman Excellence in Education Endowment Fund

The Cardinal Newman Excellence in Education Endowment Fund was established to honor and support the dedicated faculty who form the heart of our school community. Managed through the Catholic Community Foundation of South Carolina, this fund provides lasting resources to strengthen faculty salaries, benefits, and professional growth opportunities.

Recognizing the sacrifices our teachers make to serve in Catholic education, this endowment reflects our community’s shared commitment to offering competitive compensation and continued education opportunities that allow us to retain exceptional educators—those who inspire our students through their knowledge, compassion, and faith-filled example. Through their vocation to teach and guide, our faculty embody the mission of Cardinal Newman School, shaping the minds and hearts of future generations.

Augustus Tolton Endowment

Augustus Tolton Center for Social Justice Endowment Fund

The Augustus Tolton Center for Social Justice Endowment Fund was established to create and sustain the Augustus Tolton Center for Social Justice at Cardinal Newman School. Named in honor of Venerable Augustus Tolton, the first recognized African American Catholic priest, this fund affirms our commitment to forming students and faculty who live out the Gospel call to justice, compassion, and respect for the dignity of every person.

Managed through the Catholic Community Foundation of South Carolina, the endowment provides resources for faculty training and continuing education that address racial injustice and prejudice, and foster awareness of the challenges facing students, families, and the broader community. It also supports student programs and school-sponsored acts of justice that reflect Catholic Social Teaching and promote right relationships within our school and beyond.
