Campus Ministry
“Dear young people, let yourselves be taken over by the light of Christ, and spread that light wherever you are.” -Pope John Paul II
Cardinal Newman Campus Ministry serves to support the spiritual well-being of our students. While the entire Cardinal Newman staff ministers to students throughout the year in many ways, it is the task of the Campus Ministry to develop and coordinate certain specific student programs in which students and staff take leading roles.
These programs involve a variety of experiences through which our students come to the awareness that God is active in their daily lives. Through liturgies, retreats, pastoral counseling, prayer groups, community service, and peer ministry, students grow in this faith both as individuals and as a community. Students have the opportunity to serve at Mass as lectors or altar servers, may apply to serve on the retreat teams that help to organize and lead grade-level retreats, can participate in discipleship groups such as the M18s women’s group or the Molokai Men, or attend the March for Life in Washington, D.C.
Cardinal Newman builds on values learned within the family by encouraging students to develop life-long faith convictions and lasting relationships with God in and through God's people. We want our students to know that God is active in your life and is calling you to discipleship. Campus Ministry is here to help guide along that path to discipleship. Pastoral counseling is available to students going through growth and change in their faith or in their relationship with God or with others. Students may drop in, be invited or be referred to the campus ministry office where the campus minister and/or campus chaplain are available to talk.
