Teacher of Mathematics (Full Time)

 

Cardinal Newman School of Columbia, South Carolina is accepting applications for a full time Mathematics teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year.   We are seeking a subject area expert who, in collaboration with the administration, is responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive mathematics classroom, especially in the areas of pre-algebra, algebra I, and algebra II.  Qualified candidates will possess a strong educational background in mathematics, and must have a passion for inspiring mathematical inquiry in the classroom.   The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree and have an ability to coach or moderate a major school activity. 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Teaching pre-algebra, algebra I, and algebra II
  • Participation in a major school co-curricular activity

Spanish and French Teacher (Full Time)

 

Cardinal Newman School is accepting applications for an accomplished and enthusiastic World Language teacher in Spanish and French. Qualified candidates will be fluent in either Spanish or French, with a strong working knowledge of both. They will also have a passion for teaching world languages at the Middle and High School level, developing proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in the target language. Cardinal Newman seeks candidates who will creatively offer student-centered instruction and a willingness to develop immersion experiences in world language. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree and have an ability to coach a sport or moderate a major school activity.

Director of Support Services

 

Cardinal Newman School of Columbia, South Carolina is accepting applications for a Director of Support Services and Special Needs Instructor for the 2021-2022 academic year.   We are seeking an instructor with a strong background in special education, an ability to develop, communicate, and manage learning plans, and counsel students in need of support.  The Director will also offer coaching to teachers working to meet the needs of students with learning differences in their classes.  The Director is also responsible for the development of and instruction for students in our DeLasalle program, a full-inclusion program for students with mild cognitive disabilities in grades 7-12. In collaboration with the administration, the Director is responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive program for meeting the needs of students with learning differences. The Director of Support Services will work closely with the Director of Tiered Supports.  Qualified candidates will possess a strong educational background in special education and must have a passion for serving those with special needs, coupled with an appreciation for the dignity of every student and a belief that all can learn.  A Master’s degree or PhD in special education, psychology, counseling, or social work is preferred.

Cardinal Newman School of Columbia, South Carolina is accepting applications for a full time Chemistry teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year.   We are seeking a subject area expert who, in collaboration with the administration, is responsible for building and maintaining a comprehensive science classroom, moving and progressing towards the AP courses.  Qualified candidates will possess a strong educational background in the sciences, and must have a passion for inspiring scientific inquiry in the classroom.   The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree in Chemistry or related fields, and have an ability to coach or moderate a major school activity.
