Cardinal Newman Band Director Earns State Honor
Band Director Jordan Finley has been chosen to be the clinician for the South Carolina Band Directors Association Middle School Alternate Band (SCBDA) for the 2021 Region 3 Clinic.
Cardinal Newman Only Private School in the Midlands to Offer AP Capstone Diploma Program
Cardinal Newman will be the only private school in the Midlands, and one of only approximately 2,000 schools nationwide, to implement the AP Capstone Diploma Program - an innovative program that allows students to develop the skills that matter most for college success, such as research, collaboration, and communication. The program will launch in the fall of 2021.
Cardinal Volleyball Finishes with Record Setting Season
The year of 2020 will be remembered by us all for many reasons. In a fall full of new protocols and void of many of the things we all used to take for granted, the Cardinal Volleyball team took flight and soared to new heights of success on the court. The Cardinals finished with a record of 33-1 with a combined set score of 79-5, an overall state ranking of #2 (including all public and private schools in SC) and most importantly earned the coveted SCISA State Championship.
Cardinal Newman Academic Team Competes in National Tournament
Under the tutelage of Mr. Briody, the Cardinal Newman History Bee scholars have been hard at work this fall preparing for the National History Bee competition in the spring of 2021. In mid December the team received an invitation to compete in the prestigious 2020 National Championships of the US Academic Bowl, which was held virtually on December 19th and 20th.
