A Tribute to Max Lampl

This Friday, during Cardinal Newman's home baseball game against Augusta Christian, we will host a tribute night for former student Max Lampl, who sadly passed away late last year. Max played football and basketball for Cardinal Newman, but his real passion was baseball. He earned a spot on the varsity team as an 8th grader in 2012, and led the team in strikeouts and ERA that season. He finished second in innings pitched. Max went on to the University of South Carolina where he furthered his academic career.

On Friday, the Lampl family will join us, at 4:45PM, for a short ceremony before the 5:00PM game. Everyone will be welcomed by Principal Loia, and Father Frei will then lead us in prayer. George, Patricia and Maggie Lampl will present Coach Assey with a $2,485 donation to the baseball program, share a few words about Max and then Mr. Lampl will throw out the pitch.

The family is also starting a new endowment for Cardinal Newman School - The Maxwell J. Lampl Memorial Scholarship, that will be available for current Cardinal Newman students starting next year. Please join us in remembering Max Lampl this Friday night.
