Peter Brown, Cardinal Newman Alumnus, Addresses the Class of 2021

On May 22, 2021, our graduating class had the honor and privilege of hearing from CN alum Peter Brown, our 2021 commencement speaker. A graduate of Cardinal Newman, and later the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a B.S. in Engineering, Mr. Brown's expertise has helped his family business, Colite, evolve into one of the premier signage manufacturers in the world. Colite is an international company doing business in more than 130 countries worldwide, yet still owned and operated by the family that started it here in Columbia in 1947.
If anyone knows what it takes to achieve success, it's Peter Brown. During his speech he shared with students and their families what he considers the four pillars of success; faith, family, self and community. He told them if they focus on these four things, the few things in life that they have some control over, success is sure to follow. His message was thoughtful, inspiring and one our graduates will carry with them for a lifetime. We are so proud to call Mr. Brown one of our own, and thrilled that he was willing to share his personal success story with our seniors on such a special day. You can read Mr. Brown's full speech here
