Apply to CN
We offer rolling admissions at Cardinal Newman, allowing families to apply at any time throughout the year. While we welcome applications year-round, admission is selective and decisions are based on each student's academic readiness, character, and potential to thrive in our community. We encourage families to apply early as space in each grade level and financial aid resources are limited .
In keeping with its mission as a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, Cardinal Newman School offers priority consideration for admission to student applicants based upon the following criteria:
- Siblings of current Cardinal Newman students or recent CNS graduates.
- Students currently enrolled in Columbia Catholic partner schools or Catholic school in another city or state. Partner school families are strongly encouraged to apply by October 31.
- Students enrolled in public or private schools who are active members of a Catholic parish in Columbia or another city.
- Students enrolled in public or private schools who are not active members of a Catholic parish.

Our experience with CN has been nothing short of amazing. Our family took where our youngest went to high school very seriously. We toured six schools and applied to five. We got into four of the schools we applied to. We chose CN because it felt like family. We are very happy to be Cardinals!

Application Process
Before or during the application process, we strongly encourage all families to visit Cardinal Newman. There is no better way to get a sense of our community than by exploring our campus, walking the halls with our students and staff, and meeting current Cardinals.
