Our Student Support Services team works with all students to maximize their full academic potential. The team is led by Dr. Brooke Maxfield and Coach JR Roth, and focuses on helping students with assistance plans (IEPs) access the academic curriculum to the best of their ability. Plans and support are individualized to the student's need and to their coursework.
Additionally, the Student Support Services team provides executive functioning support for the full Cardinal Newman student body via Advisory classes. Advisory classes help students learn to advocate for themselves, gain a better understanding of their academic strengths and weaknesses, and gives them quiet time to complete their tasks.
Finally, students are welcome and encouraged to stay after school with Coach Roth in our Homework Lab. Homework Lab provides a quiet environment for students to work independently, or to connect with content specific teachers when additional help is needed. Homework lab is provided at no cost.
Whether or not a student has an assistance plan, Dr. Maxfield and Coach Roth are eager to work with and support all Cardinal Newman students to do their best!
