Any athlete in grades 7 through 12 may come to the athletic training room for injury evaluation and treatment, Monday thru Friday during the high school lunch period and every school day at 3:00 PM unless otherwise posted.
The athletic training room is located in the Gymnasium next to the boys locker room, across from the water fountain.
Trainers cover all varsity, JV and B-Team home events; travel with the varsity football team; and with varisty basketball and soccer during playoffs only.

Appointments for Cardinal Newman athletes at USC Sports Medicine Center may be made through Coach Hedstrom at 803.782.2814 ext. 34 or 803.467.8655. Parents are not obligated to use USC Sports Medicine Center and may make appointments with the physician of their choice.
During football season only, USC Sports Medicine Center will provide a Saturday morning clinic for more serious injuries from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Appointments may be made through Coach Hedstrom.
Cardinal Newman provides secondary insurance through the Maskin Corporation. Please contact Coach Hedstrom to file a claim in the event your studrent is injured playing a sport for the school.

Every year in April, the USC Sports Medicine Center offers free physicals to the athletes of middle school and high school athletic programs that participate in our S.M.A.R.T. Program. You don’t even need to schedule an appointment. Check back to this website for a time to be updated; then show up to receive a full physical examination free of charge.
