he Catholic Mission of Cardinal Newman is of paramount importance to all of us. It is our hope that you will help the School in fulfilling this mission. The Catholic Bishops of the United States have named eight essential components that every program should fulfill. A student commission looks at how well we are accomplishing these components and how we can build from where we currently stand.
The role of advocacy is to ensure that Cardinal Newman students are fully integrated into the life of the Church. It takes a look at how the gifts, talents and energy of our students are respected and utilized both within our faith community and that of our supporting parishes.
The role of catechesis is to ensure that we are fulfilling the faith developmental needs or our middle and high school students. It takes a look at how the life of faith and prayer is meeting our students in their life experience.
The role of community life is to ensure we are building an environment of love, support, appreciation for diversity, and judicious acceptance that models Catholic principles; develops meaningful relationships; and nurtures Catholic faith.
The role of evangelization is to be the energizing core of all Cardinal Newman activities. It takes a look at how we are fostering Christ centered relationships in all programs, clubs and organizations and how we are inviting our students into a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus and empowering them to live as His disciples.
The role of justice and service is to ensure we are helping our students form a social consciousness and a commitment to a life of justice and service rooted in their faith in Jesus Christ, in the Scriptures, and in Catholic social teaching; empowering our students to work for justice by concrete efforts to address the causes of human suffering; and infuses.

The role of Leadership Development is to ensure we are calling forth, affirming, and empowering the diverse gifts, talents, and abilities of students. This ministry forms leaders for the future to carry on the mission of our church.
The role of Pastoral Care is to ensure we are promoting positive student and family development through a variety of positive (preventive) strategies; caring for students in crisis through support; providing guidance as our students face life decisions and make moral choices. Pastoral care enables healing and growth to take place within individuals and their relationships
The role of prayer and worship is to ensure we are providing the best opportunities for our students to awaken their awareness of the spirit at work in their lives; incorporating them more fully into the sacramental life of the Church, especially Eucharist; nurturing their personal prayer life; and fostering family prayer.
